Uniform Policy

During the 2016-2017 school year, the school community vote to adopt a school-wide district uniform policy for the 2017-2018 school year.  The uniform policy outlines the following for Santa Susana Elementary students:

  • Tops:  solid navy blue, gray or teal collared polo shirt.  

  • Bottoms:  solid blue or black bottoms (pants, leggings, shorts, or skirts).  Jeans/denim are acceptable without holes, rips, fraying or embellishments.

  • Uniform style dresses for girls are acceptable.

  • Sweatshirts/sweaters/Jackets: Any color is ok.

  • Shoes:  Tennis shoes are preferred (as students play at recess and P.E.) but not mandatory.  No sandals, open toed shoes, shoes with heels, or “heely” shoes with wheels.

  • Fridays – Spirit shirts may be worn on Fridays.  We will have 2 “Free dress” days per month- the second and fourth Friday of the month.  Students need to make appropriate clothing choices that allow for easy and safe movement while participating in all school activities.  Parents will be notified if students have made an inappropriate clothing choice.

Homework Help

 

Homework Help Picture

Homework help is available every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. (except school holidays and breaks) in the Children's Room. This is a drop-in, first come, first served program for elementary school children who need help in any subject. High school and college student volunteers are ready to assist your child free of charge. NOTE: parents MUST stay in the building while your child is being helped. Any questions, please contact Jodi Regan, Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator for Simi Valley Public Library jodi.regan@simivalleylibrary.org or 805.526.1735 Ext 5015.

1st/2nd/3rd: 10:15 to 10:35 a.m.

4th/5th/6th: 10:35 to 10:55 a.m.


LUNCH

Kindergarten: 11:20 a.m. to 12 p.m.

1st/2nd: 11:45 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.

3rd/4th: 12:15 to 12:55 p.m.

5th/6th: 12:40 to 1:20 p.m.
