Ms. Jennifer Deniz
School Psychologist

I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. I graduated from Cal State LA and majored in Child Development and Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. I then earned my Master's Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in School Psychology. I have worked in Simi Valley since 2016. I love working with all children and families. I drink a Starbucks a day, and I love scary movies.

SCHOOL COUNSELOR

Ms. Heidi Valdez

School Counselor

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, attending schools in Hollywood and Burbank. I received my Bachelor’s Degree at California State University Northridge (CSUN) in Liberal Studies. I also was very fortunate to study abroad in Florence, Italy for 1 year. After that, I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling. I have been an elementary school counselor for 7 years and find it rewarding working with students, teachers, and families. 

This is my first year working for the Simi Valley School District as the Title 1 Counselor. I'm here to provide Title 1 students with bilingual social emotional support as well as support teachers and families to enhance and improve students' academic, personal-social and career exploration skills. I’m very excited to be supporting our community. In addition to counseling, I am married, have a doggie named Ellie, enjoy gardening, watching Disney movies and shows, and especially cheering for our favorite soccer team: LAFC!!!
