The Child Nutrition Department sent an email to all families on Friday, August 7th. Lunch distribution will begin on 8/17.

Will meals be offered to everyone?

Meals will only be provided to current students enrolled in the Simi Valley Unified School District. SVUSD staff may also purchase meals but will need to call the Child Nutrition Department to set up a meal account. Meal service will be provided as a “grab & go” model. We will only accept cash or checks at one site, Hillside Middle. If you need to use cash/checks, please pick up from this site. Otherwise, meals will be charged to the individual’s account.

How can I put money on my student’s account?

My School Bucks is the online platform we use to link payments to our POS software. Parents may make payments from their debit/credit and/or checking account to their student’s lunch account. Access My School Bucks at:

If your student qualifies for free or reduced lunch, you can still participate in the grab and go meal program. All students need to apply for the lunch program at the start of the school year. If the student was on the program last year, you have 30 days to complete a new application. New forms will be sent home with student materials on August 17th.

Yes, if you want to participate in the meal program for 2018-2019 school year.  Applications are valid for one school year at a time and for the first 30 days of the following school year. 

Application for 2019-2020 carry over period ends (September 25th), unless the household is notified that their children are directly certified for the 2019-2020 school year or the household submits a 2019-2020 application that is approved, the children must pay full price for school meals until an application is approved. Any charges made prior to an application’s approval are still due.

It may take up to (10) business days to process your 2019-2020 application.  You will be notified by letter when your application has been approved or denied.
