SCHOOL NURSE

Wendy Calderon

I grew up in New England, mostly around Connecticut and Massachusetts. I went to school at California Hospital School of Nursing in downtown Los Angeles. I worked at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and I met someone special. We are still together 39 years later. He is now Commander of the DAV Chapter in Simi and I assist him helping vets and I am the joint veterans group photographer. I have Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, and a certificate in gerontology from Mt. Saint Mary's College. I worked at Cedars for 33 years in many different areas. After taking time off, I decided to return to the nursing field in a new role, as school nurse. I love my schools, the people I work with, and of course the students. I am able to apply everything I have ever done by helping our students be the best that they can be. My philosophy has always been that I am happy if I can make a difference in a person's life.
