LIBRARIAN
Ms. Amy Sands
I grew up in Palm Desert, California and now live in Newbury Park with my cat Tommy.
I graduated from California State University, Channel Islands. My Bachelor's Degree is in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Teaching and Learning. I worked for several years at the Camarillo Public Library in the Discovery area. My favorite part of the day is watching a child get excited about reading. There is something magical that happens when children talk about what they are reading and why they love the book. I am very excited to work at Santa Susana Elementary in the library!

Library
We are proud of our library at Santa Susana Elementary School. All visit the school library at least once a week, and we teach them to be responsible with the library's books and resources by caring for the books properly and returning them on time and in good condition. In order to check books out and take them home, the Parent Permission Slip (link below) must be filled out each year, signed by both the parent/guardian and the student, and submitted. If a student damages or loses a book, the parent is responsible for the cost of the book. A student will not be able to check out another book until the appropriate fine is paid.
