Paraeducators: Special Education

Paraeducators work on an in-depth basis with individual or small groups of students to execute individual lesson plans and alternative strategies to maximize the learning experiences. They help to reinforce learning experiences for students. They assist teachers, specialists or therapists in assessing student ability and progress. Under the guidance and direction of the teacher, paraeducators organize materials and supplies to facilitate use by students, assist students requiring help, offer positive feedback and alternatives. Lastly, paraeducators may suggest ideas and materials that offer alternative approaches to facilitate student learning.

Paraeducators: Spanish

Paraeducator Spanish provides instructional assistance and translation to English learners in general education classrooms.  They assist teachers with planning and setting up learning activities, implementing lesson plans by providing English-to-Spanish translation that supports learning experiences for students and reviewing or assessing students' native language performance, and testing of students. Paraeducators Spanish assist teachers in monitoring classroom activities and accompany students from one location to another. May give individual and special instruction to assigned students.

Paraeducators- Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

All Transitional Kindergarten classroom have a designated paraeducator assigned to their class to maintain a 10:1 student to adult ratio. The paraeducator assists in planning and delivering age appropriate instruction to students based on state adopted standards and district curriculum.
