    I  was born in Scotland but raised in Southern California. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and my teaching credential at California State University Northridge. I have been with Simi Unified School District since 2006. I began as a title reading intervention teacher then joined Santa Susana Elementary as a third and fourth-grade teacher. Third graders are full of curiosity and ready to be challenged! They are truly developing their place in the world. It is a wonderful age.

     In addition to teaching, I am married to a high school math teacher and mom to five children.  We have two rambunctious dogs, two turtles, a tortoise, and an aquarium of fish!  Some of my favorite things are spending time with my family, reading historical fiction and biographies, and Cookie Monster!
